About project A3:
The aim of this project is the direct observation of the interphases involved in the formation of thermodynamically unfavored surface motifs. This shall lead to a better understanding of the basic structural and dynamic processes which are essential for steering the growth of particles and tailoring their shape. Our investigations will be based on a combination of attenuated total reflection Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and sum-frequency generation microscopy.
