About Project B4:
The question how and to what extent isotropic particles influence or even govern order and phase behavior in mixtures with anisotropic colloids under geometric confinement or external electric fields is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The influence of particle size and shape, concentration and surface chemistry on particle interactions and structure formation will be investigated. The initial 2D investigations will later be extended to 3D via a layer-by-layer approach.
