In addition to the synthesis of shape-anisotropic nanoparticles, done in the individual projects, their precise characterization and, where appropriate, purification with regards to size or shape distribution is of pivotal importance for the SFB as a whole. The particle analysis centre bundles the experience in particle characterization and fractionation. Different methods (including PXRD, SAXS, AUC, dynamic and static light scattering, particle tracking and prep. Ultracentrifugation) will be used and allocated to the scientists of the entire SFB.
